Fenced Fears.

I put fences against my illusions.
My illusions encircled me as fences.
The waves of fear surpassed the shores.
Danger is not in what is happening,
But in the fears of what is to happen.
There is no risk allowance
Against wanton, risky thinking.
If bubbles and balloons are feared as bombs,
The brain becomes a nuclear station.
Serpents are not static ropes;
Nor do ropes wriggling in the wind,
Transform into hooded snakes.
Self-hoodwinking breaks the shelters,
In search of new fences for defense.
Hallucination is the haberdasher
Of a haunted mind, weaving new threads
Of fences to field, fresh, frustrating, fears.
