Two Leading Lights of similar mettle.

{1924-2018}

                                                                   {1924-2018}

Between Gwalior and Thirukkuvalai,
One is called a proud princely state;
The other is viewed as a pauper's mate.
Their distance is plainly polar made.
But two men,though being poles apart,
Boldly Broke the norms of the poles,
And broke their conflicting distance,
By their dear,delightful frames of mind.

Poetry is not just fancy or imagination;
It is a state of immigration of the self,
Into the sea of humanity and its waves.
These two men did the immigration,
By delving deep into the troubled waters.
Be it the Ariya Samaj or the Dravidian Fort,
The ideology that transpired was more real
Than the location from where it transpired.

Same year born A.B.V and M.K,were poets first.
It was poetry that made them sail and speak,
With the ease of breeze and the flow of a fountain.
They called the shots, gauging the pulse of people.
Their tongues were different;so were their tasks.
But they were similar in their eloquence mode,
To break many a deadlock with a daring attitude.
To issues on hand,their minds were alertly glued.

Pokhran II and Kargil War,were Vajpayee's vivid marks;

Farmers' mart and caste free homes led kalignar's sparks.
The ten time MP and the thirteen time MLA did coyly begin
Their role at the hustings,the same year,with rhythms akin.
If the three time PM,galvanized politics with a fine passion,
The five time CM,gave it the Sun's rays,to radiate a mission.
On the alliance front,their open arms could accommodate,
Friends and rivals alike,without any preconceived template.

Both were creative heads,charming crowds to listen to them,
As their leading mettle,governed with glory,at power's helm.
P.Chandrasekaran.
