Day and Night

The day dawns with the shot of sunrise;

Dawn keeps stamping his feet,on darkness,

Like the power-wielding Vamana of ten,

Stamping his far stretching feet,

On the head of mind blowing Mahabali.

The darkness dimly surrounding the king,

Was his ignorance of the sense of space,

And the one,who was the symbol of grace.

Darkness, below the feet of dawn,tells light,

That it can rise again,into another neat night;

Day and night is a game of  bowl and bat,

Shifting sides and eagerly awaiting time's pat.

Without night,where is the need for luminating light;

If there is no light,where is relief for the night's plight?
