'To fill the bill' is 'to be helpful and useful'.
But when murky bills make truth ruthful,
They fill the legislature with love and war.
Amendments often fuel fire, creating a spar.
There are baleful bills that break the peace,
Keeping only their treasury benches at ease.
Torn bits of proposed bills strewn in the house,
Track the volume of dissenting voices that rouse.
The 'I' and the 'Me' are ghosts of a healthy democracy.
They are invisible entrants with their policy of secrecy.
So long people want their days to go on without issues,
Many a bill will peep in and pass out as pampered news.
The pages of history print the postmortem of ruthless rulers
Whose body without a soul, could only lift their lousy collars.
